Movie Review: ‘The Dark Knight Rises’

Rise of the Antihero. Bruce Wayne returns in the latest installment of director Christopher Nolan’s (Memento) Batman film franchise, The Dark Knight Rises.

The story picks up from the end of the last movie, where Batman is wrongly accused of the death of District Attorney Harvey Dent, a.k.a. Two-Face. Christian Bale (Terminator Salvation) is back as the antihero, who has to save Gotham from the threat of a new villain, Bane—played by Tom Hardy (Inception)—and, at the same time, try to escape the city’s police force who want him, too.

This is one 2012’s must-watch films without a doubt, thanks to the success of the previous installments, and also the star-studded cast: Michael Caine (The Cider House Rules), Gary Oldman (Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy), Morgan Freeman (The Shawshank Redemption), Marion Cotillard (La Vie en Rose), Joseph Gordon-Levitt (50-50) and Anne Hathaway (The Devil Wears Prada), who plays the much-anticipated Catwoman.
