From V-necks to trench coats: Runway looks to inspire

Once again, we present our round-up of runway looks featuring some of the most intriguing and essential trends to inspire your own wardrobe…

V for V

A lot of men tend to lean towards round-neck tops to create a more masculine look. This season, however, the V neckline is the go-to trend. Low or high-cut, the focus here giving us a variety of styles to match with a blazer, vest or parka. Interestingly, Dolce & Gabbana and Saint Laurent use lace to accentuate the plunging V. Meanwhile, Dries van Noten sticks to the classics by showcasing double-contrasted lines for its sweater collection.

Pajama Party

Fashion designers are—we’re pretty sure—quite aware that sleep is essential creativity. With that in mind, pajamas are back on trend this season. All matchy-matchy looks in relaxed styles lead the way, but it’s still up to the wearer to adopt them as is or style pajama pieces with suitable outerwear to avoid looking like you’re just getting out of bed. For anybody taking note of the trend, see what Amiri, Erdem and Bode have in store for use.

League Of My Own

Varsity jackets should always stay in your wardrobe. They’re definitely big this season and can easily complement any look with a sporty attitude. Berluti and Blumarine have taken a minimalist approach to the style, creating pieces that are perfect for those who prefer simplicity. Meanwhile, KidSuper and Tommy Hilfiger have introduced bolder looks.

The Trench Way

Season to season, runway to runway, one thing always stays for a reason:the trench coat. And it’s all thanks to their versatility to adapt to any weather change. For the warmer season, a trench coat feels best when it’s made from light fabrics or styled with a cotton tee and matching shirt. Interestingly, Dior has actually shown us how to wear trench coats with shorts. Lemaire and Tom Ford also offer novel examples of playing with the trench for more elevated looks.
