What We Learned From New York Men’s Fashion Week 2019: Part 2

As always, we have to dedicate one post of our fashion week report to the interestingly weird (but nonetheless true and fascinating) trends that appear on the shows. And New York did not disappoint.

See it here,

Pinky Violence

Top: Todd Snyder, Robert Geller, Boss
Bottom: Wan Hung, Helmut Lang, Reconstruct

Not many done this, but some big names did went the extra mile with fuchsia. And when you do pink among gloomy tones like dark brown, navy and grey, you definitely stand out taller than the rest.

Velvet Buzzsaw

Top: Tom Ford, Palomo Spain, Zadig & Voltaire
Bottom: Wan Hung, Joseph Abboud, Todd Snyder

Velvet is definitely not a much revisited fabric, but certainly season appropriate for this chilly city. It gives an extra class points for your looks – especially formal wears.

Lightsabers

Top: Palm Angels, Tibi, Boss
Bottom: N. Hoolywood, Todd Snyder, John Elliott

Along with pink, some designs tried to blend striking neon colors with pitch black or other darker tones. The contrast created gives an instant bold frame to its wearer.

What Gender?

Top: Palomo Spain, Luar, Landeros
Bottom: No Sesso, Reconstruct, Nihl

Yes. Gender biased outfits are big this season. Especially when fall/winter gives you an extra excuse to wear more layers – why not more sparkle as well?
