Prada Releases Surrealist Fashion Film with Oscar-Nominated Director David O. Russell

FASHION-FORWARD. Prada’s new fashion film is really weird. From Academy Award-nominated director David O. Russell (“Silver Linings Playbook” and “American Hustle”) comes what arguably the most surreal fashion film to date

Entitled “Past Forward,” the film is a multi-platform short film collaboration between Russell and Prada. The idea behind the film comes from Russell’s conversation with Miuccia Prada, where she imagined a pill that would allow people to experience all media at the same time. It inspired Russell to create the dream-like “Past Forward,” where the three lead female characters (played by Allison Williams, Freida Pinto and Kuoth Wiel) seem to live a parallel life, filled with dangers and romance alike.

Speaking of romance, the film also features John Krasinski, Jack Huston (who also appears in this season’s ad campaign for TOD’S) and Sinqua Walls as the women’s love interests. Moreover it also stars Sacha Baron Cohen aka Borat himself.

Described as a “cinema poem,” the film will definitely be interpreted in a lot of ways by its viewers. Watch the film below:
