Unveiled at Louis Vuitton’s spring/summer 2021 presentation in Tokyo and Shanghai, the Inflatable Monogram pieces evoke the inflatable puppets from the show and offers a futuristic take on the house’s Monogram.
Referencing the inflatable figures involved in the show that echoed the spring/summer 2021 collection’s puppet theme, the Inflatable Monogram pieces arrive in blouson and gilet styles. Crafted from polyvinylchloride, these statement pieces come in a translucent finish. The classic pattern features as an embossed frosted motif on a technical gilet, which can be inflated as desired. Featuring three valves for inflation, it is styled with a V neck and a central zip at the front.
The Monogram Inflatable Blouson, meanwhile, is also crafted from transparent technical fabric, with a central zip at the front and an embossed frosted Monogram motif. This piece features a removable hood with snap button, and also can be inflated to create different effects.
Aside from the translucent option, the Inflatable Monogram Canvas Gilet also comes in a stylish mix of transparent natural PVC and a classic brown ultra-light Monogram canvas backing. The technical vest is styled with a V neck and a central zip at the front. It can be inflated as desired, enabling it to be styled in a variety of ways.
These Inflatable Monogram pieces, which have now sparked a DIY trend in China—due to the exposure in the nation thanks to the massive runway show—are now available online as well as at select Louis Vuitton stores.
