The launch of the Heritage Black Bay line was very timely, considering the rise of vintage-inspired timepieces in recent years. Furthermore, the Heritage Black Bay Bronze opens up a whole new chapter for Tudor, since each individual case could develop different patinas as they age. Moreover, the slightly enlarged design inevitably presents an intriguing sight, even to watch connoisseurs who are already familiar with Tudor’s fine collections.
Aside from the unique case, details on the dial and the bezel are certainly attention-grabbing. The unique watchstraps, meanwhile, deserve a discerning look on their own. The fabric strap made using beige and brown woven jacquard with a central yellow thread was inspired by one of the Tudor watch models for the French Navy. Vintage nuances are also embodied in the other strap option which uses aged brown leather whose angled cut exudes a rustic effect.
Given the larger case size, the Heritage Black Bay Bronze now runs on a different movement: caliber MT5601. This automatic movement was also entirely developed, manufactured and assembled by Tudor. The 70-hour power reserve makes it possible for one to wear the watch on Friday and let it rest until Monday.
