Travel Review: Shangri-La Bosphorus Turkey

TURKISH DELIGHT. Five star luxury is good enough for most, but for those who need an extra dose of opulence, plenty of options do exist.

The latest is the brand new Shangri-La Bosphorus (Sinanpasa Mh Hayrettin, Istanbul, Turkey; 65-6226-3310; shangri-la.com) in Istanbul, a hotel that claims seven-stars due to its amazing rooms, service and views. Located on the river that divides Istanbul’s Asian and European sides, the hotel is second tallest building on the coast after the Dolmabahce Palace, although six of its 13 floors are actually located underground. While the building’s beautiful historical facade exudes old world charm, sleek Asian ornamentations give the rooms a contemporary look.
