Travel: Regent Bali

SUITE DREAMS. Regent hotel brand is back in Indonesia. Co-founded by Robert H. Burns and Adrian Zecha (the latter also founded Aman Resorts), the international chain opened up the Regent Bali last June in Sanur (Jl. Kusuma Sari no. 8; +62 361 3011 888; www.regenthotels.com).

Set on a ten-acre tropical garden, the 94-suite seaside resort is a luxury destination on its own. Every suite is complemented with a 30sqm outdoor terrace and an oversized daybed. Blink Design Group from Thailand heads the architectural team, rendering the Balinese Batik Kawung as the leitmotif throughout the exteriors and interiors.

Earthly color palette of beige and brown tones coupled with a warm grey fills the many shades of the splendid property. For those longing to stay for much longer terms, 25 Regent Residences are up for grabs. “Regent Bali,” says Ralf Oheltz, president of Regent Hotels & Resorts, “reflects the new direction of the Regent Brand.”
