Travel: Luna2 Studios

FUN-TASTIC LUNATICS. Designer Melanie Hall rewrote the rule book of hospitality interiors in the newly opened Luna2 Studios (Jl. Sarinande no. 20, Seminyak, Bali; luna2.com).

Drawing playful color schemes from classics such as Lego, Monopoly, Rubiks cubes and Piet Mondrian, the exclusive “studiotel” concept caters to Luna2 guests and club members only. The 14 open-plan studios are artfully done, categorized in four themes after London’s prestige addresses: Mayfair, Strand, Piccadilly and Bond Street.

Each boasts a king-size bed, lounge area, dining space, work station and large balcony overlooking the swimming pool and temple land beyond. The icing on the cake is a personal butler at your beck and call. Walk around the premise for more discoveries, as hallmark furniture pieces, including Tom Dixon lamps, Cassina Philippe Starck chairs, Brionvega retro TVs, are arrayed elegantly amid authentic pieces by Melanie Hall herself.
