Wearing Your Pocket Squares
The 1-Pointer
<ol>
<li>Lay your pocket square on a flat surface, with one corner facing up in a diamond-like fashion</li>
<li>Fold the bottom point to the top point creating a triangle</li>
<li>Fold the left corner of the triangle to the right corner, and the right corner to the left corner, creating a long rectangle with a point at the top</li>
<li>Fold the bottom to the top, but not all the way</li>
<li>Adjust until you get the desired amount of point coming out of the pocket</li>
</ol>

The 2-pointer
<ol>
<li>Lay your pocket square on a flat surface, with one corner facing up in a diamond-like fashion</li>
<li>Fold the bottom point up and just to the left of the top point</li>
<li>Fold the left point in toward the right, and the right toward the left</li>
<li>Adjust the pocket square in your suit pocket to get the desired amount of points coming out of the pocket</li>

The 3-pointer
<ol>
<li>Lay it on a flat surface with one corner facing up in a diamond-like shape</li>
<li>Fold the bottom point up, but just to the left of the top point by a centimeter or so</li>
<li>Fold the left side up toward the right, creating another point just to the right of the new &#8216;middle point&#8217;</li>
<li>Fold the right point straight across in toward the left</li>
<li>Adjust the pocket square in your suit pocket to get the desired amount of points coming out of the pocket</li>

The free-form
<ol>
<li>Lay the pocket square on a flat surface</li>
<li>Pinch the middle of the fabric, allowing the folds to come together naturally</li>
<li>With one hand firmly holding it, use your other hand to gently gather it together</li>
<li>Gracefully gather up the bottom of the pocket square</li>
<li>Tuck it into your suit pocket and play with it until you get the desired puffiness</li>
</ol>

Other styles to consider, but not shown here: the straight, the waterfall, the 4-pointer, the 3-stairs fold, etc
When to wear
Now that you know how to fold them, the next question is when to wear them?
Any formal occasion (e.g., wedding, gala event, red-carpet party) is fine. As far as which method for which occasion &#8230; well that&#8217;s up to your own sartorial preference and what you want to project.
It&#8217;s mostly about what feels right for your style and personality and, quite simply, what you feel most confident in.
Also, it&#8217;s important  to remember to match your pocket square with other accessories, like your tie.
