Nyon-based watch manufacturer Hublot launched many new novelties that embody the fusion of edgy aesthetics and cutting-edge technology at this year’s Watches and Wonders Geneva event. Crafted with meticulous precision, these exceptional timepieces push the boundaries of design,captivating adventurous souls who dare to defy convention. A notable example in this regard is the latest iteration of the Hublot Square Bang Unico, which now comes in a white and black ceramic case.
Last year, Hublot created a stir by unveiling this new square-shaped watch design inspired bya its iconic Big Bang. The distinctive characteristics of the Big Bang Unico, such as the watch’s sandwich-like construction and Hublot’s utilization of high-tech materials, have been reimagined in this new configuration.
For 2023, the brand showcases its mastery of ceramics by presenting two new editions of the Square Bang Unico. Naturally, all the characteristics of this icon are clearly visible, including the six functional H-shaped screws. Crafted from sleek and scratch-resistant black and white ceramic, the Square Bang Unico exudes an air of modernity and sophistication. Moreover, the bold square case format with sharp lines makes a powerful statement on the wrist.
Beneath the openwork dial, the renowned Unico movement HUB1280 drives this mechanical marvel, offering a 72-hour power reserve. Each of these new models is equipped with a rubber strap and a titanium deployant buckle clasp with the One Click interchangeable system, making it the ideal companion for those who are always active and on the go.
Another new timepiece that perfectly encapsulates the spirit of adventure and the pursuit of excellence is the Hublot Classic Fusion Chronograph Orlinski Full Titanium. A direct result of Hublot’s continued collaboration with renowned artist Richard Orlinski, this exceptional watch is another testament to the brand’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of creativity and design. In this case, the timepiece seamlessly marries the wonders of horology and the rebellious sophistication of contemporary art to make a lasting impression.
As the name implies, the Classic Fusion Chronograph Orlinski Full Titanium is crafted from lightweight but robust titanium and showcases a distinctive faceted case, reflecting Orlinski’s signature sculptural aesthetic. The meticulously designed facets catch the light from every angle, creating a captivating play of reflections and shadows that mesmerize the eye.
A huge technical feat in this new collection is the fact that the micro-blasted titanium gives the facets a matt finish for an added touch of elegance, while at the same time, the titanium itself extends its three-dimensional silhouette along the entire watch. On top of that, the striking dodecagonal shape of the bezel—which is the signature mark of Hublot’s collaboration with Richard Orlinski since 2017—transforms into a polygon. For the final touch, beneath the sculptural strokes, the timepiece is driven by the HUB1153 automatic chronograph movement.
