JF3 returns to Jakarta’s fashion scene with a vast showcase of local designers along with a renewed mission to support Indonesia’s homegrown fashion talents
First initiated in 2004, JF3 – the Jakarta Fashion and Food Festival – has become a major player in Indonesia’s fashion landscape, primarily as a platform for budding local designers to showcase their potential. This year, that commitment is renewed through JF3 2023, which began in early July 2023 with its Fashion Village program, with its main Fashion Festival currently running until July 26.
“The theme of JF3 2023 is ‘Power to Empower,’ and we call on everyone who are highly invested in supporting the existence of Indonesia’s fashion industry,” says Soegianto Nagaria, Chairman of JF3. “In line with how the global fashion industry has moved forward in the post-pandemic era, JF3 invites everyone to contribute to and give new hope in determining a new direction, to where we will lead Indonesia’s fashion industry.”
Another major highlight of JF3 2023 is that it is now held at two venues: Summarecon Mall Serpong and Summarecon Mall Kelapa Gading. Other focal points of this edition are the JF3 Model Search which seeks to uncover new talents and the PINTU Incubator, which sees a collaboration between LAKON Indonesia and the French embassy through the Institut Français d’Indonesie.
“JF3 has evolved in how it supports the advancement of Indonesia’s fashion industry. After the pandemic, JF3’s role is expected to grow significantly by pushing Indonesia’s fashion industry to enter and compete on a global stage,” says Thresia Mareta, advisor to JF3. “In our efforts to strengthen Indonesia’s standing in the international fashion market, JF3 has collaborated with various parties, both local and abroad. JF3 has also presented programs focused on the empowerment of fashion entrepreneurs. Besides providing facilities and assets, JF3 also assists in providing exposure with a global reach.”
