TAG Heuer enriches its Carrera portfolio with a new captivating shade and dynamic dimension with the TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph

Earlier this year, the LVMH Watch Week event returned to present the latest creations from the group’s watchmaking brands. One particular highlight of the week’s lineup came from TAG Heuer, which has unveiled a new and exciting Carrera Chronograph.
The iconic Carrera collection initially debuted in 1963 and was born without a date complication. However, within just three years, a date function was introduced at the 12 o’clock position in what was essentially the first iteration of the DATO design. This evolution, however, didn’t halt there. In a pivotal move in 1968, the date window shifted to the nine o’clock position, solidifying the emergence of the aforementioned DATO layout. This transformation marked a significant moment in TAG Heuer’s history, symbolizing its dedication to precision and style that continues to define the Carrera collection’s enduring legacy.
This year, the story continues with a new model that pays homage to the brand’s rich history while embracing a vibrant future. Most notably, the TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph continues to draw inspiration from the iconic DATO layout while standing out with its colorful design. Two versions have been made available: The TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph in iconic DATO vintage and the TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Tourbillon, each sporting a monochrome look with hues of captivating teal green.

The first model comes with a domed sapphire Glassbox crystal that runs along the edge of the dial and blends into the case, making it easy to read the indications. Moreover, the steel watch also showcases rhodium-plated indexes and hands, complemented by a teal green azuré mono subdial at the three o’clock position. Another definite highlight is the improved ergonomics of the case, a gracefully curved flange and the circular brushed finish on the dial.
And then comes the strap. Crafted from high-end black alligator leather, it adds a touch of luxury. On the flip side of the watch, the open caseback showcases TAG Heuer’s in-house movement Heuer 02, which is listed as TH20-07. With its impressive 80-hour power reserve, it complements the brand’s commitment to precision and style.
Meanwhile, the TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Tourbillon—as its name suggests—features a tourbillon cage at 6 o’clock. This version also retains the iconic Glassbox design to remain faithful to the Carrera’s heritage. Moving inward from the bezel, the elegant teal green circular brushed dial presents a sophisticated statement piece. Of particular note, its teal green flange, rhodium-plated applied indexes and deep azuré subdials are all surrounded by green rings, which further contributes to the watch’s readability and elegance.

Another notable element of contrast is the curved sapphire crystal, which superbly provides a panoramic view of the tourbillon from various angles, enhancing the overall readability and aesthetic appeal. The same can be said about the powdered silver markings on the logo and the words “SWISS” and “CARRERA,” which elevate the watch’s appearance to a new level.
As a final touch, a black alligator leather strap adorned with the iconic TAG Heuer shield and the Heuer 02 TH20-09 movement complete this marvelous expression of vision and historical resonance.
