Television’s biggest names gathered to celebrate the year’s finest performances, but the evening’s sartorial spectacle began long before the first award was announced
The 78th Primetime Emmy Awards brought another season of television’s most accomplished talents together, honouring directors, writers and actors for work that defined the year on screen. Before the ceremony began, however, the red carpet offered its own form of spectacle, with sharp tailoring, archival couture and touches of Old Hollywood glamour setting an elegant tone for the evening.
Menswear took an especially expressive turn, with the red carpet providing ample room for individuality. Colman Domingo continued his tradition of sartorial audacity in a Valentino robe-style jacket rendered in an unexpected hue, while Oscar Isaac took a more restrained approach in Celine, pairing black and white with relaxed sophistication. Dan Levy, Riz Ahmed and Adam Brody likewise embraced contemporary tailoring, demonstrating how the modern red carpet has become as much an exercise in personal expression as it is a showcase of formal dressing.
