A new collaboration pairs Celine’s Parisian sensibility with Reebok’s athletic heritage, reworking an ’80s classic for a distinctly contemporary wardrobe
Michael Rider is making a decisive move into sneakers at Celine. Following the house’s flat sneakers, which became one of the season’s most talked-about pairs, the designer is taking the proposition further with a collaboration with Reebok, unveiled on the Spring 2027 runway in Paris..
At its center is a meeting of two distinct heritages. The 1982 Reebok Freestyle Lo is revisited through Celine’s distinctive codes, bringing Parisian street sensibility into dialogue with American athleticism. A co-branded logo appears on the tongue, with the Celine wordmark rendered in Reebok’s typeface, while perforated detailing lends texture to the toe box.
Rendered entirely in leather, the silhouette marks another step towards Celine’s emerging sporty vocabulary, balancing the house’s fashion credentials with the everyday appeal of a considered sneaker.
