OPPO joins forces with designer Patrick Owen to introduce Orbitale, an exclusive, multiformat collection whose range stretches from mobile apps to fashion pieces.
This year has seen quite a few exciting launches from OPPO. Now, the global smartphone producer has introduced an exciting multiformat collection created in collaboration with designer Patrick Owen. Called Orbitale, the exclusive collection is centered around the brand’s current flagship phone, the OPPO Find X2 Series, and encompasses online game applications, a fashion collection for the spring/summer 2021 season and furniture.
Interestingly, a unifying factor running throughout Orbitale include the aesthetics of classical board-or-tabletop games, along with the colors and textures of the vegan leather used on the OPPO Find X2 Pro Tea Orange. The texture of the leather is unique and luxurious yet smooth, while the signature orange color is very on-trend.
“We are very proud to be able to collaborate with one of Indonesia’s foremost young designers, who we feel has presented inspirational works that are inspirational, innovative, modern and possessing strong characteristics,” says Ivan Lau, CEO of OPPO Indonesia, on the collaboration. “These values are inline with those of the OPPO Find X2 Series which goes beyond the limits of technology through innovation and creativity so as to inspire more and more people.”
In designing the collection, Patrick Owen was motivated primarily by the need to create happiness amid these trying times. “This collection is the manifestation of the #ThillThenSeeYouAgain movement, which aims to recreate joy with friends and families from the comforts of staying at home, through the charm of classical games such as pool, chess and cards,” the designer elaborates. “Orbitale presents these games not only physically, but also digitally, and remains stylish. This collaboration with the OPPO Find X2 Pro through the use of vegan leather that is environmentally-friendly, premium, water-resistant, heat-resistant and also humidity-resistant brings about a captivating and timeless aesthetic.”

The aforementioned pool, chess and card games are available for download both on Google’s PlayStore for Android gadgets and also on Apple’s AppStore for iOS devices. More than that, however, these three games are also brought to life in a series of mahogany furniture game pieces. Once again, these creations combine the colors and textures of the vegan leather featured on the OPPO Find X2 Pro Tea Orange, creating a unifying theme running throughout the entire Orbitale collection.
Speaking of which, this vegan leather-based aesthetic is also present in Patrick Owen’s 20-piece spring/summer 2021 fashion collection. Highlighting timeless yet stylish and comfortable designs, the collection features Japanese cotton, jacquard cotton and, of course, vegan leather. From digital entertainment to fashionable clothing, the Orbitale collection punctuates OPPO’s continued pursuit of a synergy between aesthetics and innovation.
