News: 5 Celebrities Who Dabbled in Fashion Design

Fashion has become a language spoken by many, not excluding these five male celebrities. Showcasing their much-hyped individual styles, these musicians, actors and even a footballer get their hands on fashion design by creating a capsule collection or even founding a clothing line

1. Kanye West

Juggling a very successful music career with a womenswear line is proven to be ineffective for Kanye West (the brand lasted for two seasons only). But for this fall/winter, he collaborates with A.P.C for a menswear collection and those clothes flew out of the rack in no time. He has even indicated a full collection under his own label coming out in the future. To wit, he has signed a contract with Adidas, which means Yeezy sneakers are assuredly in the pipeline.

2. Jay-Z

Back in 1999, Jay-Z launched his clothing line, Rocawear, presenting a street-savvy style that is aimed for “urban customers.” This year, the rapper also gets a chance to design a special collection for Barneys—comprising jacket, T-shirt, cap, bag, scarf and even a watch in collaboration with Hublot—that further cements his status as one of the most stylish rappers in the industry.

3.  David Beckham

Less time spent on the field doesn’t necessarily dim the spotlights on David Beckham. Fashion becomes his next destination, starting with swimwear and sporstwear collections under Swedish brand H&M. Not only does he star in Belstaff’s advertising campaigns, he actually designs a luxury capsule collection for the brand. Rumor has it that Becks will follow his wife’s footsteps in fashion. We shall see.

4. Pharrell Williams

The forever-young musician, artist and designer Pharrell Williams always makes it into a variety of lists. Within the scope of fashion alone, Williams co-founded Billionaire Boys Club clothing line and Ice Cream footwear. He also lends his affinity in style and everything hip by working with the best names in the industry: Louis Vuitton, Moncler, Uniqlo, G-Star RAW and Adidas.

5. Matthew McConaughey

Little did people know that award-winning actor Matthew McConaughey has groomed his own fashion line named Just Keep Livin that sells cheeky-graphic shirts and T-shirts. The most sought-after piece would definitely be the “Alright, Alright, Alright” T-shirt that draws inspiration from McConaughey’s Oscar acceptance speech. A portion of the sale proceeds will go to the foundation bearing the same name of the brand.
