The annual Longines Press Meeting for Southeast Asia took place on March 5, 2026 at the Ritz-Carlton Bangkok, bringing together journalists and industry insiders for an exclusive look at the brand’s direction for the year. The event followed a welcome dinner the evening before, where the maison unveiled the new HydroConquest models and campaign. Yannick Jenni, Longines Vice President Sales International, and Giuseppe Miccio, Head of Product Development, joined guests alongside Thai actor Mario Maurer and Paweensuda Drouin, Miss Universe Thailand 2019 and the evening’s MC. The gathering set the tone for a thoughtful exploration of heritage, modernity and design innovation.

A true icon among sports watches since its 2007 launch, the HydroConquest collection embodies the balance between technical excellence and understated sophistication. This year’s redesign introduces automatic models in two sizes, 39 and 42 millimeters, with refined proportions that bridge contemporary appeal with timeless style. Lacquered dials in blue, black and green are complemented by a striking frosted blue sunray variant, while the redesigned stainless-steel cases showcase unidirectional ceramic bezels, screw-in crowns and water resistance to 30 bar (300 meters).

The watches are powered by Longines’ exclusive calibre L888.5 with a silicon balance-spring, offering exceptional accuracy and a 72-hour power reserve. Bracelet options now include both the refined H-shaped stainless-steel links and elegant Milanese mesh, the latter featuring micro-adjustable folding clasps and shortened links for an impeccable fit. Two special editions—available exclusively in corporate boutiques and via e-commerce—introduce frosted blue dials to the lineup, offering collectors in the region a fresh, sophisticated option.
During the press presentation, Giuseppe Miccio delved into the finer points of the redesign. He highlighted a new bezel system, noting the tactile satisfaction of its rotation, as well as upgraded dial finishing with thicker, engraved indexes and the latest-generation Super-LumiNova for enhanced legibility. “We wanted to elevate the user experience,” he explained, emphasizing that nearly every element—from the bezel and dial to the mesh bracelet—was carefully rethought to make a visual and functional impact on the wrist.

Miccio also discussed the movement’s reliability, emphasizing the benefits of the silicone balance spring and magnetic resistance of approximately 800 gauss—far above ISO requirements but calibrated for everyday use. Color diversity further reinforces the collection’s appeal, from the understated slate gray ceramic with black dial to the luminous blue, frosted blue and verdant green options. These details collectively position the HydroConquest as sporty yet elegant, robust yet refined—a balance that resonates strongly with Southeast Asian collectors.
The campaign video, featuring Ambassador of Elegance Henry Cavill in a sunlit beach setting in Tenerife, reinforced the collection’s adventurous and stylish character. With pricing starting at 1,850 Swiss francs for the stainless-steel bracelet models and 1,950 for the mesh editions, Longines is offering a compelling value proposition, combining Swiss heritage, technical sophistication and contemporary design—all within reach for young professionals and seasoned collectors alike.
