Odell Beckham Jr., OBJ for short, is an American football player known not only as one of, if not, the best wide receiver in American football; specializing in gravity-defying and one-handed catches.
Odell Jr. isn’t only good at what he does, but he’s also pretty in the fashion department—often wearing the most hyped and the flashiest pieces in menswear. His suit choices are top notch too. Be it on the red carpet or just casually heading to work, the emerging style icon’s suit game is as strong, bold, daring and electric as he is.
Not convinced? Here are 8 proofs.
1. COMING IN HOT
It only took a year after peaking in at number 12 of the 2014’s NFL first round draft that he made the “catch of the year” against the Dallas Cowboys, a recognition that would define his career. His first career highlight would win him the year’s “Best Play” at 2015’s ESPY Awards where he arrived in a striking red, reptile skin patterned suit.
2. LEOPARD TOP-OFF
Fast forward to September 2018, OBJ was caught donning an electric leopard jacket as he was headed to a NY Giants vs Houston Texans game. OBJ showed us how to spice up an all-black attire with a bold choice of jacket.
3. THE GREEN HORNET
Still in the same month, as he made his way to a NY Giants vs Dallas Cowboys game, OBJ was caught wearing a seriously enviable Prada suit from the Italian brand’s SS19 collection. He styled the look with a more laid-back choice on footwear: a pair of Undercover Lab x Nike React Element 87 trainers.
4. THE SUPER FLY RABBI
OBJ once arrived at the Mercedes-Benz stadium caught wearing a blue Hugo Boss suit. But the real key piece here was the Flame Keepers Hat. It added more flare to his already super fly style. Although the Giants lost to host Atlanta Falcons 20-23, OBJ dressed like he never lost the game.
5. STICK OF BUTTER
November 2018 saw what probably was the peak of his suit game: OBJ was caught on camera heading to a game with a butter white Calvin Klein suit by then creative director Raf Simons. This look shows us that his hair does a lot more than just a grooming statement; he probably decided to match the suit with his hair color.
6. OLD HOLLYWOOD WITH A TWIST
In February Odell Jr. appeared at Tom Ford’s Autumn Winter 2019 show at New York Fashion Week. His look paid a homage to the classic Hollywood white dinner Bond jacket—except it’s in aqua light blue—making the wide receiver flashier than ever. By this point, we’ve learned that one of Odell’s key piece is his black pants, and what covers the body will soon follow for him to make things interesting.
7. THE DARK PRINCE OF NFL
It was on February’s Oscar Party when Odell Jr. arrived in an all-black suit. This look may seem ordinary to many, but it’s actually more interesting than it may seem. Zoom in and you’ll see intricate details. The devil is in the details.
8. FRESH PRINCE OF CLEVELAND
Odell Jr. seems to be an avid fan of LV considering how much he’s often caught on camera and making appearances at high-profile events in a range of casual LV numbers (usually ones that are in collaboration with Supreme). We finally saw him donning a fresh look as he heads to a Brown vs. Jets game, with his signature hair cut off, in an all LV ensemble.
