From the electric pace of New York to the global fashion stage, Noah Teicher’s path in fashion has been anything but accidental. In this interview, he reflects on identity, inspiration and his ongoing process of reinvention

Despite growing up amid the creative energy of New York City, modeling wasn’t part of Noah Teicher’s original plan. What began as a chance opportunity soon evolved into a career where creativity, curiosity and personal growth aligned. Now a familiar presence in the Ralph Lauren universe—and a model whose quiet confidence speaks for itself—Noah approaches his work with intention and a deepening understanding of who he is becoming. As he enters yet another new chapter in his life and career, Teicher sits down with DAMAN to talk about his form of expression, transformation and the continual process of discovering oneself.

DAMAN: Before we dive in, how are you feeling these days—both personally and creatively?
Noah Teicher: These days, I’m feeling wonderful, actually. I’m entering a new chapter in my life and I couldn’t feel more motivated—both personally and creatively.

DA: We learned that you grew up in New York City. What was it like being surrounded by that mix of art, culture and street style?
NT: Growing up in New York City was truly a magical and thrilling experience—it’s a city like no other. I feel incredibly lucky to have been exposed to so many different styles, cultures and art forms from such a young age. It really opens your mind to the endless beauty and creativity that exist in the world.

DA: What first drew you to modeling? And on that note, when did you realize it could actually become a lasting career?
NT: My father modeled back in the day, but honestly, modeling had never crossed my mind until after I graduated high school. I was connected with Ken Harvey, my dad’s agent from the ’80s, and at first I thought I’d try it for a year or two as a way to travel and see some cool places. But after a few shoots, I really started to enjoy the creative process—bringing a vision or mood board to life—and decided to commit to it. I’m so glad I did.

DA: You’ve become closely associated with Ralph Lauren, appearing in both campaigns and runway shows. What has that experience been like?
NT: It’s been a dream come true. Words can’t fully express how fortunate I feel to have worked with such an iconic and respected brand. I’ve always admired Ralph Lauren’s timeless style and the experiences and memories I’ve made with them are ones I’ll cherish for the rest of my life.

DA: You’ve worked with the Ralph Lauren team across different collections—what do you think makes their creative world so distinct?
NT: I’ve noticed that everyone I’ve had the pleasure of working with at Ralph Lauren is genuinely down to earth. They’re passionate about what they do and truly love being part of the brand. Many of their creatives have been there for 30-plus years and I think that sense of continuity—staying true to their core identity in a world that’s constantly evolving—is what makes them the pinnacle of fashion.

DA: You’ve done both runway and editorial work. Do you approach them differently in terms of preparation or mindset?
NT: Definitely. I haven’t done too many runway shows in my career, but they always get my nerves going a bit, so I like to meditate and focus on slowing my breathing. The runway feels like a performance: the anticipation builds and then you’re suddenly out there, in the moment, fully immersed. Editorial work also feels performative, but with more creative freedom. It’s almost therapeutic for me. Before an editorial shoot, I try to understand the mood and emotion the team wants to convey so I can channel that energy authentically.

DA: When you’re in front of the camera, how do you channel the range of emotions behind, say, a campaign, and also your own personality without words?
NT: For me, it starts with understanding what I’m wearing. When I put on an outfit, I try to embody the character that the particular look represents. I ask myself, “Who is this guy? What would he be thinking or feeling right now?” That helps me bring genuine emotion into the imagery.

DA: Do you enjoy being directed on set or do you prefer bringing your own interpretation to a shoot?
NT: I think photoshoots are truly a team effort. Everyone is there to contribute creatively and tell a story together. I appreciate direction when it helps align the vision but I also like to add my own interpretation when it feels right. Collaboration always leads to the best results.

DA: How do you stay physically and mentally balanced in this travel and fast-paced schedule that come with this line of work?
NT: The biggest thing for me is getting good sleep and eating whole, nourishing foods. That makes a huge difference. I’ve always had a spontaneous personality, so the last-minute travel actually excites me—it keeps life interesting.

DA: What have you learned about yourself through this career—both professionally and personally?
NT: I’ve learned that no matter what you do, you should always find ways to express your creativity—whether it’s through writing, dancing, cooking or creating art. Our ability to imagine and create is what makes each of us unique.

DA: In an industry that’s always evolving, what keeps you motivated or creatively inspired?
NT: Honestly, the fact that the industry is always evolving keeps me inspired. There’s always someone coming up with a fresh idea or new approach. As I grow older and change physically and emotionally, I feel like a new version of myself emerges each year and that keeps the work exciting.

DA: Off-duty, how would you describe your personal style?
NT: Off-duty, my style definitely fluctuates—probably a reflection of growing up in New York City surrounded by so many different aesthetics. Lately I’ve gravitated toward a more preppy look, which I think complements my personality. My go-to outfit would be a pair of wide-leg pants and a nice linen shirt—it’s comfortable but still feels refined, like you’re ready for a beachside dinner or an impromptu party.

DA: Has your sense of fashion changed since you started modeling professionally?
NT: Absolutely—100 percent. I don’t think I really had a strong sense of fashion before I started modeling. I look back at old photos and just laugh. Over the years, I’ve learned so much from stylists about things like color, proportion and pairing textures. One of my favorite little games on set is trying to guess what shoes the stylist will pick next—I’m getting pretty good at it.

DA: When you’re not working, how do you usually spend your time?
NT: I love spending time with my family—that’s what really grounds me. My sisters Hannah and Chloe are my best friends and I try to see them as often as possible. Outside of that, I enjoy cooking, writing and learning new things. I think knowledge is one of the most valuable things you can collect.

DA: What’s something people would be surprised to learn about you outside of modeling?
NT: I’m really into science. I’ve always been fascinated by the microscopic world and by astronomy. I can spend hours reading or listening to lectures about DNA, atoms and the universe.

DA: Looking back, what moments are you most proud of?
NT: I’d have to say shooting two back-to-back underwear campaigns for Ralph Lauren. That was an incredible experience and a major milestone for me.

DA: What’s something you still want to explore—maybe a new role or even a different creative path?
NT: I’d love to explore the role of creative director at some point. As a model, you often observe these incredible creative teams in action from up close, and I think stepping into that position would be a natural and exciting evolution.

DA: Finally, what’s your mindset heading into the next chapter of your career?
NT: My mindset is one of gratitude and curiosity. I want to continue growing—not just as a model but as a creative person. I’m focused on being present, embracing new opportunities and pushing myself to explore different sides of this industry. I feel like I’m entering a stage where I’m more confident in who I am and what I bring to the table … and that’s a really exciting place to be.
