DA MAN: Speaking of which, you were a musician before you started modeling, right? Did you sing or did play an instrument?
John Hein: I sang in a punk band. I’m not very musically inclined, but I like karaoke. [Laughs]

DA MAN: After you were discovered in Los Angeles, when did you decide to take up modeling full time?
John Hein: I lived in Los Angeles for eight months and was brought to New York by my agency, Ford. They knew I’d do well here and I began modeling full time once I got my footing.

DA MAN: You certainly have some great moves when you dance, but what about walking the runway? Did it take you a while to practice that?
John Hein: No, and you can tell I haven’t practiced dancing either! [Laughs]

DA MAN: You’re in the Calvin Klein Watches + Jewelry campaign with your model girlfriend Tilda Lindstam. How did you guys meet?
John Hein: Tilda and I had several mutual friends before we first met. They made her date me and she’s been stuck with me since.

DA MAN: Any other big projects coming up soon?
John Hein: I wrote and directed a web series called “Lowlives” with my friend, Mitzi Akaha. That is in the editing stage and should be out soon.
