SPACE INVADERS. In space, no one can hear you scream, much less sing.
Yet, that didn’t stop Jared Leto and his fellow 30 Seconds to Mars band members from launching their new single, the appropriately titled “Up in the Air,” into outer space; last March, a CD containing the song was carried by a rocket to International Space Station, where it was played for the public for the first time ever. This ambitious move is an indication of what’s coming in the band’s fourth studio record, Love Lust Faith + Dream. The band mixes contemporary electronic and dance beats with their usual alt rock sound, creating one exciting and unexpected record, which has been called “more than an evolution… a brand new beginning” by Leto himself.
