Longines celebrates the Record collection with Kate Winslet and Simon Baker

Swiss watch brand Longines and two of its Ambassadors of Elegance showcased its newest Record timepieces in Chantilly, France

When Longines launched the Record collection, it added yet another series of timepieces with attractive classical designs at a similarly attractive price range. It is also the first Longines collection that is entirely COSC-certified as chronometers, highlighting the brand’s commitment to provide accurate timepieces.

This June, on the eve of one of the brand’s most spectacular events of the year—namely, the Prix de Diane Longines 2019—Longines held a special event at the Château de Chantilly to celebrate the Record collection. On hand to lend a bit of star power to the evening’s festivities were two of the brand’s Ambassadors of Elegance, Kate Winslet and Simon Baker.

In fact, the two world-renowned actors had just finished a photo shoot in another nearby château. It was the first time that the two collaborated on a photo set, along with two selected models from the Record collection.

So, the Saturday evening of June 15, 2019, saw Winslet and Baker arrive together at the courtyard of the Château de Chantilly, to the cheers of an expectant crowd from all corners of the world. Naturally, both stars were seen wearing a Record watch—a stainless steel model with a mother-of-pearl dial and diamond indexes on Kate Winslet’s wrist, while Simon Baker opted for a sturdy-yet-elegant rose gold model with a silver sunray dial and more traditional bar indexes.

“I do like the Record model,” Baker mentioned in an interview the following day. “I think the Record will be, in the future, an absolute classic.” And certainly the collection, especially the newest models, had all the hallmarks of classical watch design that has been updated to become elegantly contemporary.

The festivities then continued well into the night as Longines and the multinational crowd celebrated yet another incarnation of the brand’s motto, “elegance is an attitude.”
