Loewe returns with a capsule collection inspired by the late American artist Ken Price.
Price was a Californian artist, born and raised in Los Angeles, known for his vibrant ceramic sculptures. And now, his unique graphics can be found in this seasonal collection from Loewe. The motifs are inspired by hand-painted ceramic plates made for La Palme restaurant in Newport Beach in the ’80s, interpreted into silk shirts, hoodies, tees, blousons, shirts and various accessories.
“They’re uplifting and optimistic,” creative director Jonathan Anderson says of the prescience of Price’s works. “I feel like fashion is in a moment when it’s questioning the purpose of buying. The collection’s pieces are a way of investing into both Ken Price and Loewe.”
