A ROPEY EMBRACE. A signature blanket from Louis Vuitton’s Menswear Fall/Winter ’15/’16 suits for a statement embellishment for both living and bedroom
Every once in a while, we see a designer, a collection, or even a single design element grow into the defining characteristic of a season. For fall/winter ’15/’16, Louis Vuitton’s menswear collection by Kim Jones definitely comes close and some would argue that it is the most iconic collection of the season. At the very least, Jones’ work is definitely memorable, as it was a tribute to the late, great Christopher Nemeth. Now, months after collection’s debut, the design has trickled from the runways to stores and boutiques, as well as into home and living products. Case in point: Louis Vuitton’s Circle Rope Blanket.
This sandy beige reversible wool blanket is the perfect piece to add a hint of warmth and coziness to any home. Naturally, it is also literally warm and cozy, not to mention soft to the touch. Nemeth’s graphic rope motif is woven into the blanket, giving it a strong yet subtle presence. It won’t really stand out as the centerpiece of a room, but it will definitely catch the eye of anyone passing through.
Of course, blankets like these make for great outerwear as well. Not that this comes as much of a surprise, seeing as how Louis Vuitton’s blankets spent quite a lot of time outdoors during the fall and winter of 2014 as well as 2013 and probably before.
