AHEAD OF ITS TIME. There are two ways in which the LG Ultra HD TV 65-inch LA9700 is ahead of its time. First and foremost, the difference between the more common 1080p HD resolution and 4K UHDTV is immediately striking even to the untrained eye.
Secondly, even as 4K TVs are moving toward being mainstream, actual 4K content is still rare even online. Fortunately, the LA9700’s resolution upscaler (which allows it to boost lower resolution content to 4K) works quite well. Also fortunate is how this set delivers on the audio front; with a drop-down array of speakers (which “hides” when the TV is turned off) that is considered among the best onboard speaker systems for flat-scree n TVs.
