Offering a new level of portable protection in the face of the coronavirus pandemic, the LG Puricare brings face masks to another level with advanced protection while also being good for the environment.
South-Korea based electronic company LG created an air-purifying face mask that offers a new level of portable protection. This new mask will be shown virtually at the IFA 2020 trade show for consumer electronics and home appliances. Adapting the filters that are usually seen in home air purifiers, the PuriCare masks resolves the dilemma of inconsistent quality and wastefulness inherent to single-use and even homemade masks. Furthermore, the mask comes equipped with two-high quality HEPA filters that can remove at least 99.97 percent of airborne particulates as small as .3 microns in size.
As to how it works, the PuriCare mask features dual fans powered by an 820mAh battery which, along with the filters, enable a supply of fresh, clean air both indoors and out. At high settings, the battery life will last about two hours while on low it will last for about eight hours. On that note, LG has patented a respiratory sensor to detect the cycle and volume of air to make breathing effortless.
The all-white design is ergonomically shaped based on extensive facial shape analysis to ensure it fits snugly to minimize air leakage around the nose and chin. The design also ensures comfort even after hours of wear. Finally, the PuriCare mask comes with a special case to ensure hygienic storage as the case featurs UV LED lights that can kill harmful germs while also charging the mask. The case can even send notifications to a mobile app to remind users when the filters need to be replaced.
