Following in her daughter’s footsteps, Lenny Kravitz is now also a brand ambassador of YSL Beauty
The iconic rocker joins the YSL Beauty Family as the brand’s new face of its Y fragrance. The masculine Y fragrance line itself was first launched in 2017 and turned the first letter of Yves Saint Laurent’s name into a question: Y. Furthermore, the fragrance is meant for “an experimenter and a creator who never stops asking himself: why not?”
Created by Master Perfumer Dominique Ropion, Y is inspired by the iconic Yves Saint Laurent white T-shirt and black jacket. Furthermore, this eau de toilette represents a balance between freshness and strength. It has notes of bergamot, sage and ginger that offers a sharp, juicy tenderness to challenge convention and exceed all expectations. Meanwhile, at its base, soft notes of balsam fir, cedarwood and marine ambergris embody a subtle power.
“I’ve always been a fan of Yves Saint Laurent,” said Kravitz. “Of his work, his aesthetic, his lifestyle, his boldness. He was super eclectic and drew from so many places. I also happened to already wear a lot of Saint Laurent. Always have. This was not something I had to fit into or think about. It’s been part of my lifestyle for so many years. It’s a very organic collaboration.”
