A colorful collection that fuses the DNA of the two labels.
French luxury fashion house Kenzo is once again teaming up with Californian skate brand Vans for a new collection this summer. Inspired by skateboarding culture, the new capsule collection features all-over signature floral prints from the brand’s archives that wrap the legendary Vans Old Skool and Sk8-Hi styles in three versions, as well as a dynamic wardrobe. The latter includes an illustrated T-shirt, sweatpants, a logo hoodie, a denim jacket and jersey pieces that are made with 100-percent organic cotton. These are designed by Felipe Oliveira Baptista.
Speaking of which, this is the very first capsule collection by Baptista, who was appointed as creative director of Kenzo in July 2019. He also created a limited edition Kenzo skateboard—an exclusive lifestyle item created in collaboration with The Skateroom—in addition to floral prints sneakers and the series of unisex wardrobe pieces.
More importantly, only 150 pieces will be made available and 100 percent of the profits from sakes if the Kenzo skateboard will be donated to a social skate project to empower at-risk youth in Jamaica.
