On Saturday and Sunday, May 28-29, the 32nd Jakarta Highland Gathering was held in Lippo Karawaci. Following the tradition of the Highland Games, which have been played for the last few centuries in Scotland, part country fair/part athletic championship, it was a weekend of fun and excitement for the whole family.
The Jakarta Highland Gathering is an annual event that invites the international community in and around Jakarta as well as other individuals interested in a weekend festival based on the traditional Highland Games of Scotland. Other than featuring the best of Scotland, its country and highland dancing, pipes and drums and “Heavies” events such as the caber toss, shot put, etc., there will also be competitions and shows including numerous team sports, bazaars and cultural performances from all over the world.
For the whole day, visitors can enjoy special promotion deals, including at the DA MAN (DestinAsian Media Group) booth from numerous corporate exhibitors, shops for unique merchandises and indulge in a wide variety of food and drinks at the Food Festival Area that will also have live performances and a special show by Celine Toner, a multitalented performer with a delightful charm and irresistible Scottish disposition.
This year, five charity organizations were chosen as beneficiaries, including Yayasan Wisma Cheshire and Yayasan Balita Sehat. Thanks to the generous support from the event’s sponsors, the net proceeds raised from the event will be donated to the charity organizations.
