At the historic Watches and Wonders Geneva 2024 fair, the Nyon-based watch manufacturer Hublot launched several new novelties that combine cutting-edge technology with edgy aesthetics. These extraordinary watches, made with the utmost precision and reliability, once again push the boundaries of luxury watchmaking design.
To this end, the brand’s philosophy has extended to every aspect of contemporary watchmaking for over two decades by fusing materials, finishes, designs, colors, alloys, techniques, and aesthetics. And the best part is, all of them are illustrated with the introduction of three new variants of the Big Bang Unico, each made primarily of ceramic.
The first version is titled the Big Bang Unico Orange Ceramic, which, as its name implies, comes in a vibrant, striking orange ceramic. This is a first for the Manufacture, and arguably for any brand, as orange ceramic is actually an Hublot invention. Design-wise, this new color harmonizes perfectly with all the surfaces and finishes on the new Big Bang Unico: from the polished case and bezel, textured rubber strap, and indexes and hands with a skeleton finish, with its iconic column wheel visible at 6 o’clock and date window integrated into the heart of the 60-minute counter.

The second version presents a much more adventurous look and camo style. Titled the Big Bang Unico Dark Green Ceramic, this khaki version comes in a stealthy and tactical vibe, a counterpoint to its orange alter ego, if one can say. At a glance, the green ceramic blends naturally with the black of the push-pieces and the lugs protecting the 42mm case to create a ruggedly functional look. Beneath the secrecy of visual composition, its threeday power reserve and water resistance, certified to 100m, ensure its success on any mission its wearer goes through.
Last but not least, the third version showcases a vintage vibe. It’s reminiscent of the original model, which was released in 2006, and remains faithful to its powerful aesthetic. Named the Big Bang Unico Ice Bang, this watch is an incredible work of art, with its sapphire crystal’s anti-reflective coating allowing its wearer to see its harmonious two-tone construction. The case is made of black micro-blasted and polished ceramic, while the bezel is crafted in satinfinished and polished tungsten contrasts with the black ceramic. Furthermore, this watch is completed by two interchangeable straps. The first strap is designed in Velcro mesh with a black ceramic buckle for a sportier look. The second strap features a more classic Hublot aesthetic thanks to its striated black rubber and a black titanium folding clasp.

Overall, the latest trio of limited editions of the legendary Big Bang Unico is set in its iconic diameter of 42mm. Most notably, there’s this drastic limitation to conserve rarity and value, with 250 pieces of each model from orange and dark green, while the vintage Unico Ice Bang is limited to 100 pieces. The HUB1280 Manufacture caliber, a self-winding flyback chronograph movement with a 72-hour power reserve, is visible through all the dials. Meanwhile, the patented Hublot “One-Click” interchangeable bracelet completes the strong and disruptive aesthetics and technology.
