VIVA MEXICO. La Montre Hermès takes on Mexico’s cultural legacy for its Slim d’Hermès Mille Fleurs du Mexique timepiece
Numbered and limited to six pieces only, this visually rich 39.5mm white gold watch abounds with colors and imagery.
The motif was inspired by an Hermès silk scarf conceived by graphic designer Laetitia Bianchi, who paid tribute to her heritage in the depiction of feathers, flowers, leaves and birds in fascinating ways.
To translate these images into a mother-of-pearl watch dial, the artisan had to draw each line by hand and brush the color palette on, layer after layer, followed by successive firings in the oven at 90 degrees Celsius.
Another nod to Mexico is the beautiful, vivid green alligator leather strap, completed with a 17mm white gold pin buckle.
