At this year’s digital platform of Watches and Wonders Geneva, Hermès unveiled its latest Slim d’Hermès line which embodies essentials like simplicity imbued with rigorous discipline and aesthetic balance as the unmistakable signatures of the collection. Titled the Slim d’Hermès GMT, this particular watch beautifully showcases how the maison devotes considerable attention to details.
As we can see up front, the Slim d’Hermès GMT’s ultra-thin 9.48mm thick case reveals its pure display beneath an enigmatic smoked crystal veil. The broad blue dial also comes with a distinctive font and slim numerals with spaces between them. Furthermore, the dial is adorned with subtle finishing that accentuates its intensity. The watch’s aesthetic allure then continues with exquisite elements like the slender curves of the case as well as the original numeral font designed by Philippe Apeloig. The Slim d’Hermès GMT also features a grained silver-toned GMT counter that is swept over by slender, sandblasted gilded baton-type hands.
As seen on the inside, the Slim d’Hermès GMT moves to the tune of the ultra-thin Manufacture Hermès H1950 movement. Then there’s also the exclusive and ultra-thin GMT module, which is exclusively developed by Agenhor for Hermès. In addition to the hours, minutes and date function, this mechanical self-winding composition us also equipped with a micro-rotor that drives a dual-time reading complete with two day/night indicators for home time and travel time. The time at any given destination is simply and playfully adjusted via a dedicated pushbutton.
Furthermore, to make the watch even more special, the movement bridges are hand-chamfered and adorned with a sprinkling of H motifs, while the aforementioned module features the Côtes de Genève and circular-graining. All of these can be admired through the sapphire crystal caseback. All in all, with the slender elegance of the rose gold case gracing the new Slim d’Hermès GMT, this particular GMT version surely becomes the ideal companion for today’s globetrotter.
