THE YOUNG GUN. As the untamed rebellious young heart of Versace, Versus Versace was not born in Italy.
Instead, its original home is in New York, where it paved its way with the signature use of safety pins throughout men’s and women’s collection. For the first collaboration the house does, Versus Versace gets J.W. Anderson on board to create a capsule collection. He later translates the fashion DNA into three themes: color, the slash, and graphic black and white. “The idea behind the collection was about a modern, sharp Versus Versace, with a focus on the shared wardrobe. A man in a woman’s wardrobe, and a woman in a man’s,” clarifies J.W. Anderson.
