PIAZZA PIZZAZZ. Although Stefano Pilati’s reign in Yves Saint Laurent is over, his sleek touch is making a comeback under Italian brand Ermenegildo Zegna.
Debuting his menswear collection for the upcoming Spring/Summer 2014 season in Milan Fashion Week 2013, Pilati went beyond catwalk — he also hosted an art installation. With the help of Swedish film director Johan Söderberg, Swedish music producer Klas Ahlund and French composer Maxence Cyrin, the Italian designer constructed a futuristic dimension on the city’s old fairgrounds, Piazza VI Febbraio. Similar installation is in the pipeline for his ensuing collection for Agnona, Zegna’s womenswear in September 2013.
