FIRE STARTER. Calvin Klein has tapped True Blood actor Alexander Skarsgård to be the face of their spring 2013 Spring 2013 global multimedia advertising campaign for the Calvin Klein Collection, ck Calvin Klein and Calvin Klein Jeans brands.
The cornerstone of the campaign is a striking short film, titled Provocations, which stars Skarsgård and model Suvi Koponen. The film is a first for the storied American fashion brand. For the single, unified campaign, which also includes print ads, Skarsgård and Ms. Koponen are portrayed in a complex journey through sleek, architectural settings and dark and mysterious environments.
“Presenting all three brands in one cohesive campaign film allows us to convey the overall vision of the Calvin Klein brand in a more meaningful and impactful way to our consumers,” said Tom Murry, President and CEO of Calvin Klein, Inc. The campaign film was conceived, directed and shot by consulting creative director Fabien Baron. Skarsgård is also currently the face of the men’s fragrance Encounter Calvin Klein.
