These brand new sneaker is the result of a collaboration between Kim Jones and Daniel Arsham
As a tribute to Christian Dior’s first vocation as a gallery owner and passionate art collector, Kim Jones chose to enrich Dior Men’s Summer 2020 collection by doing a collaboration with American artist Daniel Arsham.
Throughout this Spring/Summer 2020 collection, a pair of tie-dye sneakers stands out. This is the CD 1 Sneaker. Sporting the embossed soles inspired by Arsham’s work, the sneaker is crafted in calfskin and technical mesh, and embellished with transparent details, aligning with the quartz crystals that illuminate the casts of the artist’s “Future Relics” series. Besides a contrasting “DIOR” signature, the sneaker also sports a tie-dye motif as a true reflection of the house’s innovative savoir-faire.
Featuring welded soles, the style is also revisited in two-tone dégradé versions—in pink and white or blue and white combos—as well as in monochrome black or white, along with two white versions enhanced by contrasting pink soles or gray and blue accents, two of the founding couturier’s favorite shades.
