The Indonesian team’s official opening ceremony outfits for the 2024 Olympics in Paris have been revealed. Designed by Didit Hediprasetyo, these outfits celebrate Indonesia’s cultural history and physical prowess through fine workmanship and traditional Indonesian design principles.

Drawing inspiration from 19th-century Javanese Romantic painter Raden Saleh, the designs reflect Indonesia’s diverse cultural heritage and global reach. The men’s costume features white pants, velvet and washed-out denim that is reminiscent of motorcycle jackets and traditional Javanese Beskap. The women’s outfit blends sophistication with a sporty flair with a white jumpsuit and red Kebaya Kutubaru top. Subtle leather Indonesian symbols, precise stitching and modern Blangkon headpieces all demonstrate the attention to detail.

“I am deeply grateful to have designed the official parade uniforms for the athletes representing Indonesia at the 2024 Olympics in Paris,” said Didit Hediprasetyo. “My hope is to create designs that embody the pride, spirit and resilience of our nation, while ensuring that each athlete appears and performs at their best on the world stage.”
