As the ongoing pandemic forced the cancellation of many major world events, Cartier was quick to adapt by launching a digital space to present its 2020 novelties: Cartier Watchmaking Encounters.

The absence of this year’s Swiss watch trade shows—among the many major events cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic—has prompted Cartier to launch a new digital platform in order to present its 2020 novelties. Bringing thelatest unexpected encounters between shapes and ideas nurtured by the maison right to our homes is the “Cartier Watchmaking Encounters.”
“In the current context, we believe it is important to preserve our interactions with all our clients around the world through various touchpoints, and thus be able to offer them an experience entirely dedicated to our Maison’s watchmaking creations,” says Arnaud Carrez, Marketing and Communication Director at Cartier International.

In this digital platform, visitors will be able to get a glimpse of Cartier’s latest releases, starting with the modern interpretation of Pasha. Debuting in 1985, the watch has gained quite a cult following ever since. The watchmaking statement of the year by the Maison is due to be released in China this summer, followed by a worldwide activation early September.
Other unveilings due to take place on the platform includes the Santos XL, a set of engraved and limited edition Santos-Dumont models, as well as a Tank Asymétrique as part of the Cartier Privé collection—which will have a dedicated section on the website. The platform will also reveal a new feminine watch which has been self-proclaimed as Cartier’s “true jewel,” the Maillon, alongside exclusive collections of precious watches combining exceptional jewelryand watchmaking.

An idea nurtured by the Maison, the Cartier Watchmaking Encounters will be online starting April 25th, and will be available in French, English and Chinese.
