The Louis Vuitton Monterey Makes a Case for Ceramic

Louis Vuitton revisits the distinctive pebble form of its iconic Monterey watch, pairing 1980s avant-garde design with contemporary ceramic craftsmanship

Image

The enduring legacy of the Louis Vuitton Monterey continues this year with two new ceramic iterations, now joining the watch’s permanent collection. Inspired by the LV II watches of 1988, the new Louis Vuitton Monterey Ceramic comes in a tone-on-tone green, with the dial echoing the green ceramic case, alongside an ultra-sleek black-and-white version with a matte white lacquer dial.

Created at La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton, the innovative 37mm watch demonstrates the maison’s expertise in material engineering. Following the 2025 revival of the limited-edition yellow gold Louis Vuitton Monterey, this latest iteration brings together the codes of haute couture and contemporary watchmaking, marrying 1980s avant-garde design principles with advanced ceramic techniques to open a new chapter in the Monterey story.

The watch is defined by its ergonomic pebble shape, semi-circular typography and playful crown positioned at 12 o’clock
