Part of the proceeds from the Superocean Heritage ’57 Limited Edition II will be donated to charities supporting frontline healthcare workers in some of the most affected countries.
Breitling introduced The Superocean Heritage ’57 Limited Edition at the brand’s first-ever Summit Webcast—streamed globally due to the pandemic and lockdowns—earlier this year. Long story short, reaction to the watch was overwhelmingly positive and the international audience saw its colorful design elements as a beacon of hope and a positive reference to the rainbows that have become symbols of support for frontline healthcare professionals.
The remarkable commitment of the healthcare professionals combined with the enthusiastic feedback for its first rainbow watch led Breitling to create the Superocean Heritage ’57 Limited Edition II. More importantly, the brand wanted to make a meaningful gesture in support of the aforementioned healthcare workers and is contributing part of the proceeds from sales of the new watch to charities in countries hit hardest by the pandemic.
“We were amazed by the popularity of the Superocean Heritage ’57 Limited Edition, which told us that we could do something for the incredible healthcare workers,” explained Breitling’s CEO Georges Kern. “They have sacrificed so much and we wanted to make it clear how much we care with this new version of our own rainbow.”
The Superocean Heritage ’57 Limited Edition II features a blue dial and rainbow design elements. In particular, the aforementioned rainbow-inspired highlights are a clear link to the symbol that has come to represent support for frontline healthcare workers around the world. These striking color highlights mark the hours at 12, 3, 6, and 9 o’clock on the dial.
Moreover, the hour markers and the hour and minute hands are also coated with Super-LumiNova in a rainbow graduation of yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet, red and orange. Limited to only 1000 pieces, this watch is finished with ah engraved caseback with the words “ONE OF 1000” and a bidirectional rotating bezel with an ultra-hard blue ceramic bezel ring.
Finally, Breitling is also donating an additional CHF 1000 for each of the first 100 Superocean Heritage ’57 Limited Edition II watches sold online via its website. In total, the brand will donate CHF 500,000, which will be split equally among six charities in six countries, all of which are active in the global struggle against the coronavirus.
Above all, Breitling’s Superocean Heritage ’57 Limited Edition II is a perfect and colorful way to say thank you to the frontline heroes tackling COVID-19 pandemic.
