The new Toujours Soft is tailored for everyday use

From the very beginning, the house of Berluti has cultivated a unique style that combines audacity, fantasy and classicism. Founded in 1895, the French leather maker has since kept creativity alive within the family, with every generation of the maison’s caretakers nurturing exceptional savoir-faire in leatherworks and, most famously, in creating shiny patinas on its works.

When Berluti started exploring fine leather goods in 2005, it marked a significant expansion beyond shoemaking, for which it was best known for. This was a natural evolution for the brand, building upon its heritage of unparalleled artistry and dedication to quality. An exceptional case in point of this would be the Toujours tote.

Created by Olga Berluti in 2013, the Toujours tote stands out as a quintessential example of the brand’s commitment to innovation and excellence. The design quickly solidifies its place as one of Berluti’s most iconic lines. This spring, Berluti is expanding its leather goods portfolio by introducing the Toujours Soft line to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Toujours tote. In short, Spring 2024 sees the launch three new bags, each epitomizing a blend of chic aesthetics and practical comfort tailored for everyday use.

The Toujours Soft collection offers elegant accompaniments to complement any outfit

Berluti’s signature artistry is evident in every aspect of the Toujours Soft collection. The Toujours Soft reimagines the original tote’s functional silhouette, employing supple Venezia leather for a more laid-back attitude. There are delicate references to the Jour’s aesthetic principles, including the discreet front side pocket and intricately designed leaf-shaped zip pull tabs. The inventive envelope-inspired design pays homage to the historical bottom shape of the Toujours tote, which gracefully folds over in a triangular formation.

The first highlight in the collection is the zipped Hobo bag, offering spacious versatility as a messenger-style carryall. The wide adjustable strap sits comfortably cross-body or worn over the shoulder, making it an ideal choice for day-to-night use.

Next is the Zipped bag, whose ample size makes it suitable as a weekender, gym bag or carry-on luggage with a convenient trolley loop on the back that attaches easily to a suitcase. Its adjustable and removable buckle strap also allows relaxed shoulder wear or formal carrying with the handles.

The final highlight from the Toujours Soft collection, the Satchel stands out with its distinctive all-over Scritto motif and versatile design. Transitioning effortlessly from tote to backpack, it echoes the functionality of the original Premier Jour. Featuring removable backpack straps and a padded interior pocket perfectly sized for a laptop, the bag blends practicality with unmistakable style.
