Berluti announced yesterday that Haider Ackermann, who just assumed his role as the new Creative Director, will show his first collection in January. While we await Ackermann’s debut show for Berluti, we’re currently basking in the previous Creative Director Alessandro Sartori’s last collection for the French brand
In many ways, Sartori has given Berluti its much-desired youthful approach, which is apparent in these two items in the brand’s fall/winter 2016 collection: Fast Track sneaker and Formula 1004 rolling suitcase.
The Fast Track is one of Berluti’s successful attempts at creating a hybrid between a sneaker and dress shoe. With a shape that is inspired by a running shoe, Fast Track is available in two versions. The first one is made from nylon and calfskin, and is a reminiscent of a waterproof sport shoe. The other version is made out of Glazed Calf Leather all over and is added with broguing details. For an added touch of sportiness, Fast Track is completed with a running-appropriate non-slip sole.

To create the Formula 1004 suitcase, Berluti is utilizing its signature Venezia Calf Leather. The Venezia Leather is special to Berluti, as it was developed in the early 1990s by Olga Berluti, who was looking to create a leather that would “permit patinas of exquisite transparency and exceptional depth” over time.
Moreover, Formula 1004 also comes with extendable top handle that ensures superior handling for “hurried men.”
Both Fast Track sneaker and Formula 1004 suitcase are already available at Berluti store in Plaza Indonesia, Jakarta.
