Bell &amp; ross pushes the boundaries of its watchmaking expertise even further with its new BR 05 Black Ceramic

Ceramic, known for its impressive technical properties such as complete resistance to scratches and lightweight durability, has become a cornerstone of high-end watchmaking in recent years. To this end, it’s no wonder many brands blend this material with their savoir-faire and launched it at this year’s Watches and Wonders Geneva as part of their new novelties.
On this note, Bell &amp; Ross also took this movement, completely transforming urban watchmaking by introducing its BR 05 Black Ceramic collection. This launch, featuring the maison’s first use of ceramic in its urban line, essentially stole the show with its striking, complete black vibe. The best part is that Bell &amp; Ross didn’t launch just one, but three new timepieces in this durable material.
Design-wise, the new models, namely the BR 05 Black Ceramic, BR 05 Skeleton Black Ceramic, and BR 05 Skeleton Black Lum Ceramic, retain the guiding principle of the rounded square design with a modern finish. These three new iterations uphold the same concept while enabling the BR 05 line to expand, and the integrated bracelet of this fashionable watch is one of its most vital points.

Perhaps Bruno Belamich, Creative Director and co-founder of Bell &amp; Ross, explained it best: “The bracelet is integrated into the case in line with the brand’s codes, while bringing another dimension to the watch: the first link is part of the case. This type of design has been an industry benchmark since the ’70s; when transposed to Bell &amp; Ross, we get a watch with a shape that is at once compact, harmonious and ergonomic.”
Aside from the bracelet, another highlight is the overall look of this fascinating shade, which is timeless, sporty and elegant shade. Aesthetically, the BR 05 Black Ceramic comes with a three-hand polished satin finish. It also showcases a shiny black sunburst dial with rhodium-plated skeletonized hands tipped with white luminescent material. To complete the whole look, it’s available in an integrated ceramic bracelet or a rubber strap material and an integrated ceramic bracelet or a rubber strap.

The BR 05 Skeleton Black Ceramic stands apart with its tinted transparent dial, while the BR 05 Skeleton Black Lum Ceramic case and bracelet have a sportier, more boldly graphic appearance thanks to the matte surface of the sandblasted ceramic, which plays on the material’s ephemeral effect. Its dial, on the other hand, is made of a black smoked sapphire crystal, which serves as the backdrop for the rhodium-plated skeletonized hands adorned with high-shine green luminescent material.

Limited to only 500 pieces and available only with the integrated matte black ceramic bracelet, this model offers a stealthy quality at a new level. To complete it off, with sapphire crystal backs, the three ceramic BR 05 models also reveal the black ruthenium finishes of their automatic mechanical movements, the BR-CAL.321 calibre and the BR-CAL.322 calibre, with its 54-hour power reserve.
All in all, the BR 05 line from Bell &amp; Ross is the maison’s physical manifestation of its ambition to offer an elegant and modern urban watch. With these new BR 05 Black Ceramic watches, the brand pushes the boundaries of its watchmaking expertise even further. With a new and sleek 41mm diameter, these timepieces exemplify technical prowess and embody the sophisticated aesthetic and functionalist approach that Bell &amp; Ross is renowned for.
