Starting March 29, a capsule collection of glow-in-the-dark collection is available in Balenciaga stores worldwide and on the brand’s website.
The capsule collection was teased earlier this month on Balenciaga’s Instagram account, showing a model sporting glowing teeth as if they had just been whitened. However, nothing was quite what it seemed, but consumers knew to expect some sort of glowing product from the brand.
The collection transforms from day to night. For its t-shirts (especially those served in white), the design is barely visible before their motifs are exposed to a light source. However, once the pieces are exposed to any light source, the glow-in-the-dark prints and designs will be activated. The light tops naturally a glow under a UV light, though, while their smiley face designs appear in a neon green hue, making it look like the faces were drawn onto the tee.
Signature double-B Balenciaga logos appear on the tops as well, only glowing at night. The same detail, along with the smiley face design, has been added to the brand’s pool sides, baseball caps, and socks. All emit the same neon green associated with other glow-in-the-dark products.
