When he was only eight years old, Darren E. Scott took up karate because he “used to get into a lot of fights in elementary school.” This path would later lead to several National Champion titles and a successful acting career. From uncredited stunt work and minor roles, Scott eventually made it big through popular TV shows such as “Almost Human” and movies like “The Man with the Iron Fists” and “Supercapitalist.” This year, he will appear in “Killing Salazar,” playing opposite Steven Seagal and squaring off against UFC legend George St. Pierre, as well as the Bruce Lee biopic “Birth of the Dragon.”

While his martial art background certainly helps with his more action-oriented roles, Scott has proven time and again that he is a consummate performer, noting how “being meticulous with your character prep is key.” And he certainly knows another key to success in showbiz: Relationships. He elaborated, “Just auditioning and hoping that something is going to happen is never enough as an actor. I’ve established relationships with people all over the world. And like anything else, those relationships need to be nurtured.”
