HAIL THE CROWN. French luxury house Cartier is expanding its iconic repertoire with a brand new collection sporting an entirely new case shape: Clé de Cartier.
It marries the rectangular edges of Tank Anglaise with the fluidity of Ballon Bleu, resulting in harmonious curved lines that surround a perfectly round bezel and dial. Another point of visual interest is the uncanny crown that resembles an old winding key, hence the watch’s name. The crown’s blue sapphire insert corresponds to the color of the dial’s roman numerals. Owing to new in-house movement caliber 1847 MC which refers to the year of the brand’s inception the dial now features a date window at 6 o’clock. The Clé de Cartier watches for men come in white and pink gold, with a case size of 40mm.
