Uniqlo and Lemaire’s Collection Revealed

Teaming up with Hermès’ former creative director Christophe Lemaire might just be Uniqlo’s best decision yet

After allowing us a sneak peek a few months ago, the Japanese brand finally unveiled the complete look of the new collection. And we like what we see!

In terms of practicality, the pieces are unmistakably Uniqlo. But Lemaire’s design gives them a touch of elegance that’s usually missing from the Japanese brand’s clothes. Together, the two complement each other; it’s almost like a perfect marriage.

The collection consists of a number of weather-ready outfits, for example water-repellent military-style trench coat, jacket from slightly felted wool tweed and shawl-collared sweater and jacket.

Personally, we appreciate Uniqlo and Lemaire for creating fall/winter pieces that are still appropriate for tropical country dwellers. The nylon jacket, for instance, is made out of light material. A turtleneck jumper uses soft, light cashmere wool. And a water-repellent coat is completed with a hood and wadded-lining that can be removed at will. How’s that for wearability?

The collection will be available at Uniqlo stores on October 2, 2015.
