British designer Nasir Mazhar is known for his runway-ready tracksuits, rave tops and other pieces most people usually refer to as “streetwear.” But in an interview, Mazhar expressed his distaste for the term and would prefer it if his clothes were described simply as “fashion,” thank you very much
And he has a very good reason for that; there’s a certain amount of finesse in his designs that separates them from the so-called “streetwear.”
And now, Mazhar is set to bring the same elevated style to Topman.
The designer has put together a capsule collection that includes a hand-painted nylon tracksuit, a sweatshirt emblazoned with his logo, tops, shorts and jogging pants. The colors range from powder blue and baby pink to the more modest black and white.
“My vision for the brand has always been that everyone should be able to have my pieces in their wardrobe,” says Mazhar, as quoted from WWD. “Working with Topman has made it possible for me to bring my aesthetic to customers in an exciting and more accessible way.”
Available on September 6 on Topman’s website and September 8 at select stores, the capsule will be retailed at much more attainable prices (especially when compared to the prices of his runway collections), which range from US$ 30 to US$ 105.
