This is his first foray into the fragrance business
Famed British fashion photographer Rankin has taken pictures after pictures for multiple fragrances’ ad campaigns. This year, though, he’s going to do something more than that. He’s going to launch his own fragrance.
Teaming up with bespoke perfumer Azzi Glasser of “The Perfumer’s Story,” S&X by Rankin, as the fragrance is called, will be marketed for all genders.
Just in case the name doesn’t give it away, sex pretty much builds the foundation of the fragrance. Rankin told WWD, “To me, a perfume should be sexy anyway, but with this one I wanted to make it addictive and also to leave that trail behind so when you wear it, you walk past and you should leave this essence of a trail.”
To create that odor of sexiness, Glasser mixes earthy notes (pepper, olibanum, castoreum, leather, jasmine and magnolia) with touches of Earl Grey tea, Elemi oil, amber resin, white musk, patchouli and guaiac wood.
S&X by Rankin will be launched on October 1 at Harvey Nichols and theperfumersstory.com, before coming out at select stores starting January 2017.
